Bio / Background
Charlie Cardinal,who now resides in the state of Washington, is originally from a small town in upstate New York. Charlie is one of three boys born to a World War Two hero and a wonderful country girl.
From the day of his birth he has been exposed to country music at the many and frequent gatherings of friends and family. Charlie was born with natural rhythm, a keen ear and memory for music and a powerful voice. His love for music and singing had fully developed by the time he learned to talk.
Charlie had learned to play the guitar by the age of 10 and from that point on there was no stopping him. He played in local clubs and events in his teens. He was drafted into the Army in 1970.
Even while in basic training Charlie sang and played in the barracks for the other soldiers to calm them through the turmoil. While still in the Army he performed at a number of gatherings and events. Charlie's many life experiences have given him powerful inspiration for his published songs and poems.
