Blues grooves so deep you better wear your life vest so you don't drown.
Bio / Background
Love Jones, the latest achievement of Northern Arizona's Favorite Blues Band (Zene Magazine, 2004), will lead your dancing spirit through an original landscape of shimmy-friendly, hot-rod driving, zydeco-seasoned beats, and that's just for starters. Heartily applying the explosive power of "Big Daddy" Darryl Porras and his aptly named entourage, Love Jones shakes the versatile blues aficionado to the vital core. It is a rare container of a live dance hall's exuberance, combining technical artistry and heartfelt blues with such electricity it will jump-start any blues-jonesing heart.
The high energy generated from the band's original tunes does not downshift as much as the vehicle itself transforms to a celestial-bound convertible via a cover of John Hiatt's "Feels Like Rain," powered by co-founder Drew Hall's moving guitar solos.
↓ more ↓Almost tasting the steamy pockets of five-piece grooves, the Love Jones listener will have a full sensory experience of what it is to be immersed in pure house-rockin' blues.
After a few more original bumping tunes by Porras and Hall, you might think you've felt as much interwoven riff intensity as your blues-infused heart can handle. That's when Big Daddy D and the Dynamites hit you with a live reprise of "Feels Like Rain," resplendent with the kind of crowd appreciation that articulates your thoughts exactly.
"These guys have got soul, groove, and an emotional range not often found... Plus a saxophonist who makes you want to holler AMEN! at least once in every show." Zene Magazine, 2004.
