Bio / Background
His music has been described as "Honest", "Earthy", "Front porch pickin' music", and "Campfire music". This also describes THE LIGHTER SIDE OF POVERTY, the new cd by Singer/Songwriter/Guitar player Ben Willis(Who's never seen an ink blot he didn't like). A collection of ten story songs with a cast of characters including hobos, circus freaks, war heroes, drunk dancers, inept farm hands, dillusional jail inmates and generally lost souls. Playing a righthanded guitar lefthanded upside down and acoustic slide, Ben's musical and lyrical influences range from Doc and Merle Watson to John Prine and Steve Goodman. So if you think life is unfair, grab a copy of THE LIGHTER SIDE OF POVERTY give it a listen and feel better about yourself.
