"All - all of my stupid dreams ended up vanishing, while you stole the scene, I want(ed) to go everywhere, I want(ed) to do everything like you do" (and here we are now in the 00's grudgingly reading about the girl who grow up 'pretty enough to be a pop star' in People Magazine - and no I won't go to my fucking 10th anniversary High School reunion honey, I'm a fucking retarded hair lip loser!).

To the pop star in waiting. Heart in Artifice, track 4 on Dead offers this advice: "Make music to make money, what a miraculous act of devotion, I'm too indifferent to feel guilty" and then in the chorus ever indignantly: "I put the Heart in Artifice, you can almost dance to it"

The album closer "If I would die tonight" - one man experiences a near death experience and then asks what it is all about.

Warren says "I reached down deep inside of myself and tried for something different on this album, I tried to express something that I felt was important rather than just words for the continuation and support of the melody. This record was the most challenging record I have ever produced (additional production by Caleb Sherman and Jason Paige) and I am most proud of it. Thrilled to tears after it's completion I called an attorney and recounted my dream of having this album played out of every car in North America, South America and the Bronx.

And of the title? "I was reading an article in the Times, it was about a 12 year old girl who collapsed and died after riding waves in a pool at Disney Land. It just seemed like morbid irony. Here we all are in America, many of us in this packaged and pampered sort of gated-community lifestyle and still somehow reality will come on in creeping through the gates and smack us down. We're all dead in a way just too comfortable and taking it for granted we turned off our minds and we're being entertained to death. But the reality monster is standing there just outside of eyeshot.
