David Belmont's organic/electronic neo-classical musings drift gently through this water-themed recording, overlapping his affected guitar loops with nods to both Michael Hedges and Michael Bloomfield. Unwilling to allow the earthy sounds of acoustic guitars and hand percussion to grow stale, Belmont interjects the sleepy melodies with swirling electronic drones and hums, creating an unusually fresh soundscape. As the title suggests, Wind Water Excursions evokes the placidity of an undisturbed lake in either early morning or warm dusk, but contains enough interesting elements to force the listener to stay afloat. ~ Zac Johnson, All Music Guide
