Bio / Background

Aoede (ay-ee-dee) is Ear Candy... sassy San Francisco duo Lisa Sniderman and David Sands perform their delicious blend of acoustic rock, pop and muse music for the soul-strong vocals combine with memorable melodies and catchy lyrics that keep you humming and coming back for more!

For Lisa, songwriting is like continually stitching together the different pieces of a crazy patchwork quilt. The common thread holding her quilt together is “muse.” In Greek Mythology, Aoede (ay-ee-dee) was one of the first muses and the name means “song.” Lisa fronted a cover band for a few years during which she began to write and play her originals and felt the muse seep into her, fueling her expression like listening to some fantastic dream.

In Aoede, you can hear the influences of artists such as Sam Phillips, Aimee Mann, Shawn Colvin, Sarah McLachlan, Sarah Harmer, and Tori Amos, combined with the emotional intensity and dark undertones of New Model Army, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen.
