Farzad's music conveys the commonality of human emotions through a wide range of musical genres including Western Classical, Eastern folkloric, Jazz, Pop, new age, and Latin styles.
Editorial review
Farzad, an Iranian-born violinist who studied in the U.S. and settled there after the fall of the Shah, devoted a part of his first album, From My Heart, to treatments of themes from Persian folk music. He takes a more eclectic approach on his second, mixing in a bit of everything in an attempt to demonstrate the oneness of all music. His playing in particular betrays his classical roots, but the styles of the music range from jazzy and Latin to light pop. Accompanied by a rhythm section, occasional guitars, and unknown amounts of synthesized backup, he roams the world, creating soundscapes that briskly draw attention to themselves before falling back to leave him space to showcase his violin work. This is inventive music that employs a more thorough grounding in the classics than most new age music. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
Bio / Background
"Farzad is a classically-trained artist whose Persian violin and jazzy folkloric compositions have carved a new category of art into the world of music. His eclectic tapestry of melodies showcase his Persian roots, with deep, mystical rhythms and traditional flare, while also weaving together western classical and South American styles in original compositions."

↓ more ↓From the Persian folkloric music arranged with modern bass lines and penetrating orchestration to Farzad's original compositions of classical, new age, smooth jazz, and Latin music, this collection of tracks showcases the virtuosity of a brilliant violinist.
An artist who, in his latest tour with Grammy® award winning producer KC Porter, was reviewed by the Albuquerque Tribune as a "Persian Classical Phenomenon". Concert critic and music staff writer Dustin Habermann wrote of one concert, "Farzad's sense of phrase was exquisitely in line with the Romantic aesthetic - it grew to a breathtaking forte at the top of his range and descended into eloquent murmurs toward the end of his phrases." Although he has enchanted audiences throughout the world for years, it is now with this soul-stirring new album that Farzad is penetrating the American music market.
Farzad received his diploma in classical music from the Tehran Conservatory, his Bachelor's degree in performance from Indiana University in Bloomington, and a Master's degree in performance and composition from the University of North Texas. He has performed with numerous orchestras including the Dallas Opera, the Fort Worth Symphony and the Houston Ballet, Pop and Opera Orchestras in addition to being the Concertmaster of both the National Symphony of Ecuador and the Orchestra of the second Baha'i World Congress in New York.
