French original songs, refreshing and inspired. piano, double bass, accordion and Amélie singing.
Bio / Background
//A new version of this CD will be available Spring 2007.//
Amelie started singing her funny songs in pubs and cafés in Lyon, France. Though she had to stop quickly since hundreds of new fans would come along each time. She then decided to build up a real show with 3 musicians.
Each time she had a gig, the audience was absolutely (and immediately) enraptured by the amusing side of her lyrics and the freshness and happiness she gave on the stage.
After a huge success at Printemps de Bourges (most famous festival in France) in april 2004 and the double prize at Montauban Festival (French authors & composers awards festival) she released her first full album "Et Pourquoi les Crayons ?" (cdbaby.com/cd/amelie2) and started touring over France, Swizerland, Belgium, Canada (where she was given the Felix leclerc Prize at the Francofolies Festival) and even Finland.
Amelie is currently writing songs for her new album, due September 2007.
↓ more ↓The name 'les crayons' comes from an old classical French song by Bourvil, a character she loves to mention the talent and simplicity of.
CD packaging : jewel box with 4-page-booklet inside with credits. Cover and CD are all coloured. Inside of booklet is B&W.
