Make It So is an intriguing set mostly features the playing of Al Garcia who, through overdubbing, is heard on a variety of basses; both electric and acoustic guitars; guitar synthesizer; and congas, bongos, and other percussion. On five of the dozen selections (all but Bach's "Menuet" were written or co-composed by Garcia), drummer Dean Rohan is heard playing a MIDI drum, while Garcia is added on "Harmonic Sketch #1" on tabla and kanjira. The music overall could be called fusion, but it is pretty wide-ranging as far as moods and grooves go. The leader's colorful playing, the wide textures that he creates, and the very professional feel of this privately produced CD is quite impressive.
