Dash the Assassin is a statement and an action. It's a movement to bring positive social and spiritual change by combating the negative thoughts we face each day. Drawing influences from bands such as Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dredg, and The Cure, Dash writes engaging music with heartfelt emotion and intricately crafted lyrics.
In 2006, Dash were selected to play a date on the Warped Tour along with opening for national acts Kill Hannah, The Pink Spiders, Spitalfield, Valencia, Shiny Toy Guns, Last Tuesday, and Spoken. The year also included various Midwest tours, the release of a four song EP ?Chaos You Can Trust?, recording their first album, and starting a label, Blindland Entertainment.
In March of 2007, Dash released What We Learn from Failure, the band's debut full-length album including the single ?Soft Locks on Glassy Blues?. An epic tale of mishap, misfortune, and timely conquest, the album addresses a gamut of issues including a closeness felt to the victims of genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan on ?We are One?, the death of a close friend on ?Shine?, and an all encompassing search for truth amidst feelings of inadequacy.
