Bio / Background
This belly dance album is dedicated to beginning as well as for advanced bellydancers.
Its a CD in honour of HATSHEPSUT, the Queen pharao who ruled over Egypt thousands of years ago.
The title piece "Hatshepsut part 1" includes instruments like guembri, bassoon, flute, darabukka, soprano saxophone and a bunka-bunk. Abdel Hazim wrote the music, the arrangements and played all of the ethnic instruments like guembri, Egyptian kaval, systrum and derwish drum.
The rest of the tracks are crispy ethno-tribal rhythms arranged and composed by Abdel Hazim.
The music can be used for bellydance shows, dance-classes oriental dance, tribal workshops, biodanza.
The selection of rhythms from Syria, the Gulf region (Khaleezji), Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt are played by master percussionist Abed Halabi in a production of Abdel Hazim. Abed played the drum solo on maqsoum and Egyptian percussion instruments like deff, mazhar, darabukka and sagat.

Interesting mixture of fast and slow tribal musicdakini wrote on December 17, 2007
Perfect for tribal dancers because of it's blend of tempos and styles. Lots of drums and some misterious songs, like the mentioned Hatshepsut (a lovely one that I recommend).
