Members: Yan Braslavskiy Vocals Kiril Khershberg Drums Anton Skorohodov Bass Vadim Raitses (Daniel Sherman) Guitar 2) Checkmate (Vlad (vocals), Philippe G (guitar), Philippe P (drums)) was a punk band from Caen, Basse Normandie, France. They released the 7" "Only Fools Pretend to be Happy" in 1979 and broke up in 1981. The B-side "Week-End Bloody Week-End" also makes an appearance on volume 200 of the Killed by Death compilation series.
