George Hastings became Captain Midnight in the year 2004. Since that time, he has made dreams real with computers and sounds; striking a balance between the ethereal and the physical through vast soundscapes that create the unreal and hard grooves that move bodies. Captain Midnight's relationship with New Division Records is a fabled tale of two boys with big dreams that shared the space of a single thought through the song ?Flying in the Dark? one fateful day in the recent past and decided to intertwine their futures.
From that moment forward, Captain Midnight's name has been synonymous with New Division Records.
Captain Midnight's debut album Phantom Physics set in motion the processes, ideas and talents that are to culminate in the artist's most recent work, entitled the All Futures Rest trilogy, which is set for release in 2008. All Futures Rest will consist of three extended EPs entitled Last Days Twilight, Asleep in the Riptide and The Fading Star each steeped in their own ruminations on the apocalypse and beyond. These albums can stand alone, each with unique concepts and sounds, yet they also coexist fluently as one musical statement. As we anticipate the release of Captain Midnight's finest work, and the prospect of the apocalypse looms closer everyday, we hope to discover what fates the future holds and to see through sound where All Futures Rest?
