Sex Defender, the new album by Bad Fathers, is the perfect soundtrack for the best parties in town. It combines humor, lust, fun and the occasional insight with equal parts - catchy pop, alternative/punk rock, and hip hop. The album is the latest in the band's evolving tour of new sonic landscapes, evoking imagery as diverse as the dusty American southwest, the rural south, the era of doo wop, hedonistic heavy metal, and the grandness of California. Based in Los Angeles, the band consists of vocalists Juan Hooks and Austin
Galante, guitarist/producer Jeff Ryon, bassist Jeremiah Waylon,
and drummer Ryan Turi. Bad Fathers' wild live shows, occasionally wearing only
loincloths, have been described as "spazzed out punk rap" by MTV.
Formed by Hooks, Galante, and Ryon in Iowa City, Iowa around 2002, the
band's name was inspired by the moment of clarity Jim Carreie's character
experiences in the movie "Liar, Liar" when confronting his failures in parenting.
In a nutshell, he admits to himself that he has made a big mess of things.
Hilarious nightlife antics and crazy drunken adventures came to be referred to
among the members as "Bad Fathering" and the games intensified rapidly.
Friends and fans of the band came to be known as 'Victims"
Along the way, through years of mayhem, and hard partying Bad Fathers have
