Bio:
One of the most well rounded professional vocalists in the recording industry, Barbara has been impressing the public with her evocative style since her days in church at the age of seven. A native of Greensboro, NC, Barbara started her professional career at age 13 when she started performing locally with various groups. While performing locally, Barbara met members of the group Atlantic Starr. At the time, MCA Records was in search of a female vocalist and approached Atlantic Starr about producing a demo for Barbara, which they did. Barbara was then asked to join the group and from that union ?Secret Lovers? followed by the 1 hit ?Always?, emerged. While with Atlantic Starr, Barbara performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South Africa and the U.S. receiving great acclaim from audiences worldwide, ultimately receiving two gold albums and one gold single. Shortly thereafter, Barbara embarked on a solo career after being signed to Warner Brothers. During this period, she worked with such greats as Maurice White of Earth, Wind, and Fire, and singer/songwriter Michael Bolton. Her second solo recording was released a few years later, which resulted in successful tours in Japan and the United States. Barbara's stellar voice, her stunning visual appeal, coupled with her warm, accessible personality continues to place her in constant demand for film and television soundtracks, recordings, jingles and personal appearances all over the world. She has recently appeared with Kirk Whalum and Wayman Tisdale. For more information, contact Barbara Weathers ..... bweathers001@yahoo.com

And on Wikipedia I found the following information in addition to the above contents:
Barbara Weathers (born December 7, 1963) is an American R&B/soul singer, and former lead singer of R&B vocal group, Atlantic Starr.[1] After leaving her first band, Covacus (Greensboro, North Carolina-based band of the 1980s), Weathers replaced Sharon Bryant, who left the group for a solo career in 1984. Weathers sang on two of Atlantic Starr's biggest hits, "Always" and "Secret Lovers". Her smooth vocal can also be heard on many of the group's soulful ballads. Weathers left Atlantic Starr in 1987 to pursue a solo career.
On leaving Atlantic Starr, Weathers released a self-titled solo album on Reprise Records with help from the singer-songwriter/record producer of Earth, Wind, and Fire, Maurice White, among other well established musicians. The album consisted mainly of dance music numbers, but was led off by the midtempo singles "The Master Key" and "Our Love Will Last Forever." Weathers utilised her ability to sing in the whistle register on the album's operatic closing song "Our Love Runs Deep."
In 1995 Weathers released a near perfect album (according to Allmusic), Seeing for the Very First Time.
