The Aton's was progressive rock group formed in September 1977 in Torino. The name derives from ancient Egypt; Aton is the god of the solar disk. The first original lineup consisted of Pietro Ratto, Vito Frallonardo and a number of musicians separated from the group. In the early 80's the group, began to be appreciated in musical circles, obtain the possibility to record the first single. After a series of concerts around the peninsula, the Aton's managed to record in 1985 their video-rock opera, transmitted in January 1986. It was one-hour video starring amateur actors.

In 1989 the group began to record the second album 'Caccia Grossa', which came out in 1991. The disc, released in CD, collected a considerable success in prog, was reprinted in Japan and Korea and reviewed very positively by all newspapers worldwide. The video for a song "Buio" was scheduled several times on MTV.
