On November 2, 2007, Thorr-Axe was formed in Bloomfield, Indiana by Tucker Thomasson (Guitar and Vocals) and Travis Roach (Bass and Vocals) for the purpose of creating genuinely heavy music. The two were joined by a friend, Jake Wallace, on drums and the three went to work. This trio played a total of two shows before dissolving. Months after the dissolution of the original lineup, Tucker and Travis reformed, this time with Travis on drums.
A new bass player was recruited in the form of Mitchell McKinney and on January 2, 2010, Tucker and Travis recorded the first EP, titled ?Roots of the Mountain? with Bob Fouts (The Gates of Slumber, Apostle of Solitude). After the release of this EP, a year's worth of shows full of walls of amplification, bodily injuries, and miles upon miles of roads traveled followed, along with a great deal of exposure through radio, blogs, and the internet. In January of 2011, Tucker, Mitchell, and Travis re-entered Basement Rage to record the full length album ?Wall of Spears?. With Bob Fouts behind the mixing desk once again, sonic devastation was ensured. The album was released on May 21st, and presently Thorr-Axe is looking for shows, radio opportunities, and potential label support.
