Woob is the stage name of the British soundtrack and ambient dub musician Paul Frankland. He first came to the attention of the musical community after releasing an album on T:me Recordings' new downtempo label em:t records with the catalogue number 1194, which many regard as a milestone ambient release. Following the success of his first album, which was re-released in the USA by Instinct Records, Woob contributed more tracks to em:t compilations and the trance label Flying Rhino Records. In late 1995, he released a second album on em:t, 4495, which garnered further praise.

In a recent revival of the em:t spirit, Woob has remastered 1194 as a digital download as well as releasing brand new material online - including a third full-length album, Repurpose. Up-to-date information is available on www.woob.info and http://season9.wordpress.com/.
His side projects include Journeyman (with Colin Waterton) on Ntone and more recently Max & Harvey (with Mark Butt) on Ninja Tune.
