There are several artists by the name Winchester: The first is an indie alt rock group based in Toronto, ON who debuted their first EP, Disassembling Rainbows on September 2, 2011. Although recorded only this year, Winchester's EP ?Disassembling Rainbows? has been years in the making. Beginning in Waterloo Region ON, Lauren Austin (vocals) and Monty de Luna (guitars/keys) worked with various musicians and lineups over the years before deciding to write and produce the EP together. Together, Lauren and Monty blend rock and dance influences with their experience in classical music.

Between them they hold experience in classical piano, classical guitar, vocals, rock guitar, fiddle, music theory, DJing, and synthesizer programming. They self recorded, produced, and mastered their debut EP, and released it for free download on September 2, 2011.
The band takes its name from Winchester St of Cabbagetown, Toronto ON where Lauren and Monty lived and where ?Disassembling Rainbows? was recorded. The EP was named Disassembling Rainbows by Amy Milan of Stars when Monty met her at an HMV in Toronto.
Winchester received airplay on 88.3 CJIQ FM and were featured on Care Humphries' Indie Rock Invasion Show, describing our sound as ?so different?.
