Vitor Cunha

Vitor Cunha (born Vitor S?rgio Caldeira Cunha, 31 October 1974, Rio Tinto, Oporto) is a Portuguese singer-songwriter noted for country and folk inspired eclectic music. He lived most of his life in the neighbourhood he grew up with, attending the Engineering Faculty of the Oporto University where he got a degree in Electrical Engineering. Cunha soon discovered his music passion and spent most of his university years playing in local and regional bands that despite lack of commercial breakthrough, earned him the musical reputation that made him a sought-after guitarist.

In 1996 he formed Big Problem with local buddies marking several noteworthy live appearances that showcased his melodic dexterity with the instrument and enabled him to pursue his songwriting skills.

In 2003 he begun recording his debut solo album Strangers at Dawn featuring American musicians as Patrick J. Murphy, Jim Mcarty and David Spires. Although not a commercial success, the album spanned different styles and draw favourable reviews from a less alternative bound media.

Although a prolific writer, he spent almost 4 years without recording to dedicate himself to family life. A happily married man, in 2007 he lived the birth of his first child.

In early 2008 it was announced that the sophomore album would be released in late February/early March and titled Last Train To Wonderland. The EP Angelina - Last Train To Wonderland EP from the forthcoming album was released for free at Last.fm.

Speeding up his releasing process, in late December 2008 it was announced that the third album, Connected By Dots would be released in early February 2009.
