Vineet Vyas hails from Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada and presently divides his time between Toronto and New Delhi. He has studied tabla since he was a child and since 1987 he has learnt tabla from one of India's greatest tabla maestros, Pandit Kishan Maharaj, of the Benaras Gharana. Vineet has performed with many eminent and upcoming musicians worldwide and has been awarded scholarships from the Canadian Government in recognition of his musical talent.

He has been featured on CBC radio and television, including an appearance on the 2002 East Coast Music Awards show on CBC with the well-known Halifax pop band, MIR, also featuring Natalie McMaster. He has been an invited performer with the Maritime Jazz Orchestra, performing with the likes of Renee Rosnes, piano, Sir Terry Clark, drums, Jim Vivian, bass, Gene Smith, Trombone and Mike Murley on saxophone for the CBC live-to-air opening of the Atlantic Jazz Festival, 2002. Vineet has also performed with Colin Hay, founder / vocalist of the multi-platinum selling and 1994 ARIA Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted Australian band Men at Work at the Mir Supershow 2002.
