Pianist and composer, Uli Geissendoerfer, is a versatile and remarkable musician exploring rhythms and melodies across many styles of music, with a special emphasis on Latin and modern jazz and improvisation. Originally from Munich, Germany, he now holds dual residency with the US and worked with among others William Cepeda (awarded a Grammy nomination), Groove Collective, Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo, Blood Sweat & Tears, Leslie Uggams, Cirque du Soleil, Kofo the Wonderman and Ute Lemper.

His current projects include the Uli Geissendoerfer Trio, Klezmer Re-Imagined, a duo with faboulus violin virtuoso Alicia Svigals and Bangalore Breakdown an Indian World Jazz project featuring among others Premik Russell Tubbs, Gino Sitson and Badal Roy with the first release Bangalore Diaries to be released in June. The Trio will be featured in a new CD and book collaboration with renowned artist Tina Chaden. He is very busy as producer for among others Nicole Renaud, Revlon and Lev Zhurbin's Kontraband.
Two albums have been released The Extension and Transformation 9/11 on the Caramella d'Oro and worldwide on ZYX Records. The Extension features some of New York's finest Latin Jazz artists and Transformation 9/11 is a highly emotional, completely improvised piano solo CD dealing with events of September 11.
As film composer, Uli composed together with Emmy nominated composer Steve Sandberg the critically acclaimed short film, Climbing Miss Sophie, winner of the NYU film festival 2002, and invited to Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival among other prestigious festivals worldwide. Bill Plympton's new cartoon ?Idiots and Angels? features three works of his and Nicole Renaud's.
