The Tristin Roberts Band, hailing from the coastal region of Northern California, has just released their sophomore album, Love and Mystery. For a band that has been around for little over a year, their newfound maturity exemplifies a true all-around passion and commitment at a core level that is immediately evident. Members include Tristin Roberts (acoustic guitar, lead vocals, lead songwriter), Austin Roberts (lead guitars, co-songwriter, album co-producer), Andrew Goff (bass), and William Startre (drums/percussion).

The album was also co-produced by Mike Kapitan, a music industry veteran of 25 years who also contributed keyboards to the project. The band plays live frequently, starting their own monthly worship event called Glisten, opening for the band Remedy Drive on their last two west coast tours, leading worship for multiple churches of various denominations, as well as a number of county Christian music festivals.
This is a band with a lofty goal; to transcend the typical confines of the Christian worship/rock genre musically while keeping their lyrics and spiritual grounding as strong as ever. It is undeniable that this uplifting album will bring a smile to your face, a joy to your heart, and many moments of intimate worship. They uncompromisingly express their faith through a straight up message of hope held very taught by their diverse mix of rock roots, including bands such as U2, Switchfoot, The Who, and Radiohead. But even as the album peaks with such solid and up tempo songs as Look At The Stars, Took The Fall, Free From Everything, and Chosen Generation that are surely their most catchy and inspiring, it fearlessly experiments in unexpected moments of intimate melodies and introspective, poignant lyrics carried beautifully by the soundscape created by lead guitarist and brother of Tristin, Austin Roberts. The album is an all around achievement for this up and coming act, showing significant artistic growth over their first EP Shine Bright, released just 10 months earlier in July of 2005.
They are an act to watch as they grow in popularity not only in the California Christian scene but as they attempt to break into a wider audience. The band is already writing for their next album and developing a vision for what they hope will be a set of songs that translates to the Christian community and beyond. This is a band with an ever-widening vision of how to bring their message of hope to a generation of young people who are seeking something eternal. Even now, they have begun to find success in the local secular music scene as two local top 40 stations have picked up a few of their songs for rotation, including Took The Fall. Indeed, Love and Mystery is a must hear and if you dont already have their first record, Shine Bright as well, it is a worthy debut EP to add to your collection.
