Awesome 80s band from San Francisco; several players went to work with other noted bands. Strong vocals, clean production, good songwriting... Tokyo Vogue were a hard working band playing very many gigs in and around the Bay Area at numerous venues. Notable among these was as supporting act for 70's legends Sparks in San Francisco. Despite a large and loyal local fan base major label or management attention eluded Tokyo Vogue and many would say greater achievements were sadly missed.

Once described as 'a flock of duran league' by the singer of a competing Bay Area band this comment, though witty, was typical of the backlash to the British New Wave invasion of the 80's and it appeared at the time that Tokyo Vogue fell victim to this. Although they lobbied energetically for slots opening up for touring British bands, Duran Duran among them at venues like Oakland Coliseum such opportunities were consistently denied (some would say in favour of less talented but more 'local' sounding acts).
