Thom Parrott, aka Tom Parrott, is an American singer-songwriter born in Washington, D. C., in 1944. He was a frequent contributor to Broadside Magazine in the 1960s. In September, 1967, he was included in a hootenanny hosted by Pete Seeger at Carnegie Hall. Moses Asch, founder of Folkways Records, saw him there and subsequently produced two albums of Parrott performing his own songs and versions of others. Thom also has songs on three compilation albums including the Grammy nominated "Best of Broadside." These five albums are all available from Smithsonian Folkways.
