It was in 2006 when long-time friends Colin Healy (then 15) and Jacob Bauman (then 13) decided they would officially launch the band ?The Republik.? The band's first album Last Chance Planet, released in 2007, features bassist, Jacob Bauman, (then 14) and singer-songwriter/guitarist, Colin Healy, (then 16). In 2008, a change of line-up occurred. Alberto Pizarro, (then 19), who had met Healy and Bauman at Bethune Elementary as a child, was brought in full time as a lead guitarist. Most recently, they continue the search for a new drummer.

Aside from producing music for the band, Healy and Bauman are active members in the theatre. Throughout high school, and now in Healy's case, into college, both of them perform, direct, and do technical work in theatre productions.
Currently, all band members are continuing their music education while performing at various local and state venues. They are gradually expanding their fan base across various mediums across the world.
