THE FUNKTASTICS

No newcomers in the french drum and bass scene, The Funktastics are parisian junglists of the early days. Composed of Hugabass from the I Love Jungle crew and Cosa and C Nine from the Dity Crew, they..ve been actively involved in the scene in the late nineties dj..ing and organizing fine parties in Paris (bringing over big names from Shy Fx to Andy C to High Contrast, to name but a few..). They started producing separately about 3 years ago and joined forces in the summer of 2004.

Attracted by the funkier side of dnb, they tried to develop a sound of their own merging the spirit of Motown, Stax and lesser known soul outlets with the big bassy sounds of their dnb influences like Calibre, High Contrast or Marcus Intalex.. And even though the influences are there, they constantely keep looking for original samples and breaks, crate diggas style, trying to bring new things to the table, trying to push the limits their own way, bringing the true spirit of funk to the dnb masses.
