Born at a late-night brainstorming session at a Phoenix-area Denny's of all places, The Cremains quickly gelled musically and began playing local-area shows. The band released their first independent CD in 1997 entitled Hate You (JBB Songs) and a three-song CD in 2000. Their singular style of songwriting and performance earned them the title ?Native American Rock Band of the Year? in 1999 by the Sunnyside Newspaper , and praise from international magazine Native Peoples .
The hard-working Cremains were also awarded a ?Best of Phoenix? honor in 2001 by The New Times were featured in the Arizona Republic in April 2002 and included in the December 2006 issue of Guitar World. They have also released Sacred Stage; a collaboration with the Navajo songwriter James Bilagody (Canyon Records) in 2004.
The Cremains released their fourth album titled The Bird, The Snake and The Dog in 2006 on Towering House entertainment, which was met with much anticipation by their fans. The album reflected the years of work that went into refining their sound and musicanship with a driving hard rock feel and a nod to Kris and Cremona's native american roots.
In 2008, longtime drummer Cosmo Cremain decided to pursue a different direction and quit the band. The split was amicable and the band wishes him all the luck in the world in his current endeavors.
After deciding to continue with the band, The Cremains selected drum-thrasher Tommy from the Phoenix area to help them keep time along the way. Welcome Tommy, nice to have you.
Wether you are just listening to one of their albums or attending one of their high-energy live shows, pop a cold one and enjoy! Cheers!
