Ted Hawkins (1936 - 1995) was an American blues/soul singer. He had been a famous fixture as a busker on Venice Beach in California when he was 'discovered'. Although he never reached major success in the United States, he achieved some popularity in Europe, thanks in part to the active support and encouragement of BBC Radio One DJ Andy Kershaw. He released several albums, many of which were critically acclaimed.
