T. Roy Taylor

T. Roy Taylor of Native American Cherokee and Choctaw descent, was born in Weatherford, Texas and grew up in the Panhandle of Texas. Writing no nonsense, straight to the point lyrics, backed by a new and fresh solid Texas Christian Rock sound! Raised in the Panhandle of Texas from 1956 until 1970 and growing up listening to C&W, Rockabilly, Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Blues Rock, Blues, and some classical, helped develop his writing style today.

A self taught guitar player on acoustic and electric guitar he formed his own rock band at the age of 16 and was playing weekends during his high school years. Moving out to Los Angeles California, he played with various bands and now plays venues up and down the coasts of Southern California and is presently booking venues.

T. Roy Taylor has ten new Texas Christian Rock tracks with a solid, southern rock tight beat. The TEXAS ROCK style songs have an edge about them and were released in December 2006. The first thing you will notice is that every track is different! Producer, songwriter, arranger, guitarist and vocalist, T. Roy Taylor spent years in making these ten tracks which comprise the self titled contemporary Christian rock album Solutions. Recording in four studios before settling on Dave Gehlar's Selah recording studio in Los Alamitos, CA and Arthur Barrow's legendary LOTEK recording studio in Mar Vista, CA, Solutions was recorded from November 1998 until October 2006. A group of top notch professional musicians including Johnny Hawthorn guitarist from Lapdog (Lapdog was formed by the former founding members of Toad the Wet Sprocket), Robert Williams: former drummer for Captain Beefheart and Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, Michael Brahm: drummer for Gene Loves Jezebel and Flock of Seagulls and Slobo Svrdlan bass player for Gene Loves Jezebel made up part of the lineup in this recording. ROBBY is playing electric slide guitar on Mr. Cool Demeanor, and it is bound to become one of the greatest electric slide guitar solos ever recorded! Robby and THE DOORS were inducted into the ROCK N ROLL OF FAME IN 1993. They have sold 80,000,000 million albums and still climbing. In 2007 a star was placed on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME in their honor.

Also Featured is ARTHUR BARROW, former Bass Guitar player and Bandleader for Frank Zappa. Art was also Co-Producer and Recording Engineer on this CD, "SOLUTIONS", and was responsible for producing ROBBY KRIEGER's (guitarist and songwriter of The Doors) electric slide guitar solo on my first track, "Mr. Cool Demeanor". Art has played with some the MOST FAMOUS and GREATEST music legends of all time. You have probably heard Art before and just didn't realize it. On the movie soundtrack "TOP GUN", starring Tom Cruise, the 1987 Grammy Award Winning song, "Take My Breath Away", by Berlin, has Arthur Barrow playing every instrument on that song except guitar. On the movie "Scarface", starring Al Pacino (Al Pacino should have won an Oscar for that movie), Art co-wrote 3 of the songs for that movie soundtrack with the famous Giorgio Moroder! If you look at the end of the credits Art is the music arranger for this soundtrack. Art also Co-Produced the 2011 Grammy nominated CD, Singularity, with legendary Robby Krieger lead guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

T. Roy has written, arranged, produced or performed with the following artists: ROBBY KRIEGER-lead guitarist and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Arthur Barrow two time Grammy nominated songwriter, Darrell Mansfield-California Blues Hall of Famer and Eric Turner, just to name a few!
