Kent, Ohio hometown heroes (active 1998-2005) that were known for their energetic live shows and positive vibes. This band has inspired and continues to inspire the many people who had the pleasure of seeing them perform. They brought a sense of community that the area has not seen since; they packed the house every time they played and filled the air with irresistable handclaps and "OH YEAH"s - guaranteed full-crowd participation and maniacal dancing everywhere you looked.
They made even the most uncomfortable kids feel like they were part of something so much greater than they could even comprehend. Many are forever indebted to this band for the memories, and for something else that they gave that words cannot describe.
The Starcrossed reunited for a special show on July 31, 2007. The vibes that they were known for bringing out were prevalent and perhaps even more intense than before, as the feeling had been lying dormant in most of the people who'd attended their and the show was shut down early by an asshole club owner and Kent Police. "If you play those drums again, you're going to be arrested."
Drummer Ahmed Gallab has played with the now-defunct Kent/Columbus band Sweetheart, as well as being half of Pompeii, This Morning (with Starcrossed guitarist Evan Richards), and currently performs under the name SINKANE. He has also been part of a project with acclaimed DJ/Producer Abilities (Epitaph Records), and countless other projects.
Evan Richards has been involved with Pompeii, This Morning and most-assuredly some other things, though I don't have much information in regards to his music as of right now.
Singer Zach Bussinger has been focusing on school and work since Starcrossed split up. No word on what's in store for him in regards to music in the future.
I have no idea what bassist TJ Prochaska has been doing with music. Much apologies. (Anyone with more info, edit this, please.)
If you haven't heard these guys, search them out. You will not be disappointed.
