Described as ?an inimitable amalgamation of Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan,? Austin, Texas' own Spooney is releasing in June his much anticipated follow up to his Debut album Don't Change a Thing. On Whiskey in the Coffee, Spooney's continuous evolution as a songwriter to be reckoned with is very much apparent. Recorded in post-Katrina New Orleans, Louisiana and boasts accompaniment by some of New Orleans' finest musicians, including "Papa" John Gros and Shane Theriot as well as other talented players.

Whiskey in the Coffee has a little bit of
everything. From down home blues to good ol'
pop-rock, and of course, the traditional Spooney
"Cohenesque" ballads, Whiskey in the Coffee is a
strong follow up to Don't Change a Thing.
Veteran sound engineer Ben Mumphrey used his
genius to record an album that stays fresh,
and like a good book or movie, keeps you coming
back for more.
