Soapbox Soldier began in the summer of 2005...Ryan and Joel took this project underway and started writing a lot of material; fifteen songs exactly (which naturally quite a few haven't been released.) Although influenced by bands like THE FOO FIGHTERS, RISE AGAINST and MATCHBOOK ROMANCE, the goal in the band was to create energetic, driving, and powerful rock music that was their own. After Ryan recorded some drum, bass, and guitar tracks, he and Joel set out to find other members to fill the shoes of a bass player, and a drummer.

As of present, they finished up their debut album "my dear, where do we begin". It was recorded by Paul Leavitt (Cute Is What We Aim For, Senses Fail) and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper (Copeland, The Get Up Kids). Soapbox Soldier made this record with their blood and sweat, and their insurmountable DIY attitude. Its full of fast paced, energetic, and heart filled songs.
