The Early Years At 17, guitarist Scott Tarulli attended a Berklee summer program in Boston. "Man, this place opened my eyes to music, and players I've never heard. Robben Ford, Wes Montgomery and all of the cool rock albums my friends brought with them." Around the same time, Tarulli was praised in Boston's Beat magazine. Education and Experience

After finishing high school, the guitarist got accepted to SMU (now Umass Dartmouth). There he studied Harmony, Counterpoint, Music History, Ear Training, among other music subjects. He received his B.A. from Umass Dartmouth. This is also the place where Tarulli joined his first working band. Scott was playing rock clubs in the Providence and New Bedford Area during college.

Right in this time period, the Scott sent some of his recordings to the magazine, "Guitar for the Practicing Musician". He was trying to get featured in the RESUME column, which was designed to praise unsung heroes. The column featured 3 people each month. Within 3 weeks, Scott received a letter in the mail from John Stix, the editor. "I remember, my mom read [the letter] over the phone to me. She told me that I was gonna be in Guitar Magazine! I ran around campus all manic and telling all of my friends. It was a very happy day.

"John Stix writes, "Scott's Rockin' and ballad approaches suck you in rather than stun you. Themes, textures, mood and melody all get equal billing, making his a musical, not just a guitar, statement."

For the next 5 years, Tarulli studied with Bruce Bartlett practicing and 4-6 hrs a day, and playing gigs almost every single night. "I started venturing out into other styles besides rock. My album collection grew and my outlook on music started to broaden."

Within these years Scott started playing 4-6 nights a week cutting his teeth on Jazz, Funk and Blues. "I kept freelancing and that gave me a chance to play with a lot of different players, most above my level. So, it kept making me rise to the occasion. Putting myself in different situations was, and is, a big plus for me."

Tarulli went on to study with music guru Charlie Banacos from 1998-2000.

Performed at the Patriots 2004 Super Bowl party in Jacksonville, FL- AND the 2008 Superbowl in Glendale, Arizona in the funk band "Beantown." Also playing this party were -The Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Ritchie, Kelly Clarkson and Paul McCartney - in 2008 with Lionel Ritchie, Earth Wind and Fire and Alicia Keys

Performed in the rhythm section with Steve Gadd and Abe Laboriel for Berklee's 60th Anniversary Concert Rehearsals. Also played guitar for with Peter Eldrige. Recording and performing with Christine Fawson, Katrin, This Side of Seven.

Tarulli has done various jingles, including 5 for Dunkin Donuts. He has also played on a various singer/songwriter CDs. Alastiar Mooks "A Life I never Had," Lois Greco's "Surrender" and cuts on R&B singer Drew Ambroses' upcoming release. He's done countless recording sessions for a wide range of pop, rock and jazz groups(for demos see "Listen.") He performed with Bob Marly's "Wailers", Peter Wolf and "Meatloaf." He also shared the stage with "The Fixx." Tarulli still plays frequently in clubs in freelance situations. And, in 2000, Scott was brought on board as an instructor at Berklee College of Music.

Scott teaches private lessons and styles labs year-round at the renowned Berklee College of Music. Around 2000 Tarulli formed his own group under his own name. They play his original music around the Boston Area. Check out the new CD "Transitions" and check the site for gigs and other appearances.
