RAY CEPEDA BIO Ray Cepeda is unique Independent Latin American Musical Artist. Apart from most musicians Ray is a Renaissance type artist, multi cultural and eclectic. His command of Technology along with his Singing and Guitar playing are just a few of the attributes Mr. Cepeda possesses. He has had a top #5 hit on iTunes with his remake of ?Just the Two of Us? from his CD entitled ?El Matrimonio del Sol y Luna? that climbed to # 7 in Japan (2006) and stayed there for over 6 months. ?Angels over Avalon & Aztlan is his latest project, now available on Apple iTunes.
It features Jose ?Chepito? Areas, the original Timbales percussionist for Santana who played at Woodstock is on all tracks and the famous Buzzy Linhart from New York who played with Jimi Hendrix, and wrote Bette Midler's theme song, plays vibes on ?Green Eyed Lady?, a World Rock remake of the 70's hit by Sugar Loaf. Harvey Mandel who played and recorded with The Rolling Stones and played with Canned Heat at Woodstock also plays on track #8, a remake of the Guess Who's ?Undun?. Harvey Mastered 5 of the 9 songs. Ray plays Guitar, Cuban Tres, Bass, writes his own music and Sings Lead Vocals. His songs are sophisticated chord progressions embellished with haunting melodies in English and Spanish. The band consists of Carlos and Bismark Franco on Bass and Percussion and Vocals, two extremely dynamic performers who add a lot to the show.
