ABOUT THE POLYJESTERS Brothers Sheldon and Jason met in Amsterdam in the summer of 99. It's not that they met each other for the first time, after all, they are brothers, but they met there from different places that they were each visiting. After spending all of their money at museums, galleries, concerts, church donations, and various charities, they realized that they needed to make a living somehow. It was then that the Polyjesters were born. They began busking on the streets and when it started to rain in Amsterdam they went to Nice, France.

After spending all of their money at museums, galleries, concerts, church donations, and various charities, they realized that they needed to make a living somehow. It was then that the Polyjesters were born. They began busking on the streets and when it started to rain in Amsterdam they went to Nice, France. It was here that they met up with saxophonist Dmitry Shapko and honed their craft and began composing.
Later, after being deported for an incident involving a wheel of cheese and a golf cart, the PJ's returned to their homeland in search of better green rooms stocked with ginger ale and meat platters. It was here that they realized that they would never have a normal home life and that they would be subjected to an eternal life on the road, destroying any and every relationship with the fairer sex and working for the common day vampire: agents.
MEET THE POLYJESTERS
Jason
You should have seen this guy's mullet in high school. Grade A, 100% business in the front, party in the back. It was wonderful. His first band experience was in 1989 in a group called 'Bedside Manners' that covered the amazing compositions of Skid Row, Cinderella, Motley Crew, Warrant, and of course Poison. Such a strong musical foundation in which to build a solid musical career. What a cool guy!
After the 80's and 90's Jason came to the painful realization that 'Glam-Rock' just wasn't going to cut it in the new millennium, so he switched to the upright bass and began performing cocktail bebop in various brothels around the world.
Sheldon
Sheldon's favorite colours are brown and orange, especially when mixed together. One of his most endearing qualities is that he (at the age of 29) still lives in his parent's basement, and barely makes a living as a ukulele player. Now before you ladies reach for the phone (or log on to lava-life), you should also know that he drives a 1988 Bonneville. Wow! Too much of a guy!
He has been affectionately been compared to Bing Crosby for his sultry warm voice but mostly for that stupid hat that he bought in Saskatoon for way too much money.
Rob
One should always be aware of their wallets when talking to this young terrorist. He is quite a talented drummer in his own right but most primal monkeys are good at banging on things. Rob is the tallest member in the group and makes strange noises when he first wakes up in the morning and can occasionally slip into speaking another language called 'Croatian' which is essentially a mix of Russian and some other strange language. Peachka tay Matrayna!
Rob also has difficulties drinking from champagne flutes as his nose is about 3 inches larger than the average drummer's. It is quite a thing to witness. Cheers Rob!
Matt
Matthew is the newest member of the Polyjesters and really doesn't know what he has gotten himself into. Mathew plays the fiddle unless he is around classical musicians in which case he plays the 'violin'. In a recent tour Mathew was initiated into the group by receiving one of the biggest wedgies know to man. It was so bad in fact that he was strangled with the strap of his own underwear that he was wearing at the time. What a good sport that little Matty!
WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO THE POLYJESTERS PLAY?
This question has been asked since the beginning of the PJ's and may well be asked until they die. It is a very difficult question to answer as they play all kinds of music and usually end up mixing them all together. Sometimes they will even go as far as each member playing a different song or style all together at the same time.
But for now, we will call their music 'Chunk' music which can be described as a mixture of swing, folk, and roots music. Now you may be asking yourself, "Well, what the heck is roots music man?", and that's where we can clarify things for you. 'Roots' is more or less a word created for those who are still living in the past and refuse to listen to that new hippidy hoppidy music. It contains music such as old jazz, tin pan alley songs, old country, bluegrass, and ragtime.
Now, of course the PJ's write their own music which is a mixture of all of these styles and thus we bring you: CHUNK!
