Patty Smyth (not to be confused with punk rock pioneer Patti Smith) is an American musician, born in New York City, who first gained success in 1982 with the band Scandal. In the 90's Smyth wrote music for several movie soundtracks and was nominated for a Grammy and an Academy award for her song "Look What Love Has Done" from the 1994 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "Junior". She dated fellow New York musician Richard Hell (lead singer of Television and Richard Hell and the Voidoids) for two years, and they had a child together.
