Their mission? To explode onto the scene and assault the crowds with their brand of revolutionary rock tunes.
"We all came from such different backgrounds," vocalist Jay comments. " All of us interpret music differently, and I know it will show through and set us apart from other bands in a positive way."
Different backgrounds indeed... Jay Ro is a classically trained violinist and a certified sex symbol who started PPM in Texas in 2002. PPM has won several battle of the bands and other showcases making Jay's well crafted songs a force to be reckoned with. "People heard the tunes, and instantly fell in love with the mood and the messages. I loved the idea of people relating to the songs," Jay said.
Since Jay has moved to the windy city, his sights were set on Jimmy Jensen, a 17 year veteran on the skins. Jim started slamming things at the tender age of 10. Throughout his years in school he played in countless award winning marching, symphonic, and jazz bands. His real passion is rocking behind the kit.
"I've learned a lot playing in the traditional bands in school, but what I really like is smashing out rock tunes with my brohams in PPM. What can I say? I'm addicted to rim shots!"
Jimmy C. and Bruce R. came into the picture when spotting Jay Ro panhandling for change on a random street corner. "I was just testing out new material, and we were drawn together like bees to honey," jokes Jay Ro. "We share similar philosophies on bands, and that's what PPM needs." JC has years of touring experience giving him the opportunity to play sets with nearly 500 bands all over the East Coast including Seether, Buckcherry, and Collective Soul. Bruce is the experienced performer as well, playing in the Chicagoland area for several years.
"Come see one of our shows, and I'll buy you a shot for any regular notes you can catch out of my snare drum," Jensen says. "When you have nothing in your hand, that's your cue to buy me a drink!"
Parts Per Million is about the emotional impact music can have, and the generous, supportive fans. Its about putting on a show that people will long remember, and hunger for.
