Mortal Clay

Mortal Clay is an artistic progressive rock band from Portland Oregon. They are a two member project founded in 1999. Marco programs keyboards plays electronic drums and sings vocal harmonies. Lyre sings, plays electric guitar, writes the lyrics, seqeunces additional drum tracks and samples. Lyre is a classically trained vocalist and has also studied perscussion under Brendan Perry from Dead Can Dance.

Their second album Procession Of Spectres ranges from dark/aggressive to ethereal/introspective and captures the true early goth sound.

Mortal Clay has played the Drop Dead Festival in NYC, the Dark Arts Festival in Utah as well as shows with bands such as Attrition and Kommunity Fk.

They completed their fourth album All For Not (a pendulum madness) in August 2008 and are working on their fifth album for a spring 2009 release.

They are signed to the Erk Dark Music label which is owned by Josh Bradford of the Revolting Cocks, Stayte and Simple Shelter.
