Out of Seattle comes Mike Kondol, influenced by folk & country and related sounds generated by the early seventies. He started off with an ?SG? and a ?bassman? amp to cut his first demo at Kaye Smith Studios/Seattle. He was lucky to meet Steve Miller recording "Fly Like an Eagle" there. During the 80's,he met Scott McCaughey of the Young Fresh Fellows. He influenced Kondol to try making his own records.
One Label said Kondol's stuff sounded a bit ?avant-garde?,so he used that as stage name ?Avandguard? ?Cartoon Hearts? came out in 2005, "Sixbanger" in 2006 with some mastering assistance by Seattle legend Jack Endino. Kevin Suggs plays steel guitar on "Innocent"(Sixbanger), Tucker Martine plays drums on "Hate Hate"(Sixbanger). ?Starling? (a collaborative effort with lyricist Ester Starling)also came out 2006.
