Michael Barry is currently the president of Laughing Buddha Music, an independent record label with a catalogue of eclectic international CD releases. An active recording artist and Grammy nominated producer with over 20 years experience in international music styles, he has three commercially released CDs of his own and has produced dozens of CDs for other clients. From 2004 through 2008, he was the director of the International Studio of Music in New York, prior to which he was an instructor at the New School University, as well as a past president of the NYC Classical Guitar Society.
Throughout his career, he has performed with dozens of international bands ranging in style from Rock and Jazz bands, Classical Ensembles, Latin Jazz, Caribbean and African, South American, Celtic and more. He is an active lecturer, music business panelist, and a private instructor of guitar, theory, music business and music production in Fairfield, Westchester and NYC. He is currently teaching World Music at Norwalk Community College. Mr. Barry graduated from Manhattanville College in 1983 with a BA in Music.
