Twenty-two year old folk/pop songstress Marie Moreshead (pronounced more-shed) has established herself as one of the up-and-coming artists in Portland, Maine's music community. With an acoustic guitar in hand, she has shared the stage with regionally and nationally touring acts including Ray LaMontagne, Sonya Kitchell, NeedToBreathe, Rustic Overtones, Mark Erelli, and Pete Kilpatrick Band. In 2009, The Portland Press Herald named Marie as one of Portland's Top Ten Artists to Watch...
In 2007, Marie signed with Roadside Manna Records to release "The Distraction E.P.", an eclectic mix of original songs, and in August 2009 she independently released her second EP "Birdwatchers," which the Portland Phoenix named the "Top EP of 2009." The Maine Switch has called her music ?aural comfort food, the equivalent of slipping on comfy pajamas before bed,? and both of her CDs are available in-store and online through the New England based music chain Bull Moose Music. She is currently working on her next release, which is due out this summer.
