Maria Lynch hails from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. She's been writing songs, playing live and recording all her life. After graduating from Leeds College of Music where she studied Jazz, Maria went on the road with her band The Love Cats. Maria recorded and released the album TIME BETWEEN TIMES recently to much critical praise. The album was a culmination of an intense period of songwriting and solo live work in and around the cities of Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester, as well as beyond.
'Female singer-songwriter' is a phrase that sometimes conjures up images of over-earnestness, but Maria doesn't inhabit that zone. She's more interested in melody than she is in chin-stroking inward analysis. It's hard to categorise her style because the styles are dictated to by the songs themselves.
Maria has had some time out recently since the release of the album. She is now embarking on her next stage with more songs, more gigs and a new album to come.
