Alice Despard Group

The Alice Despard Group, usually a trio, and more recently a duo with percussionist Evan Pollack, has performed at the Black Cat Club in DC, Mercury Lounge and Knitting Factory in NYC, Galaxy Hut and IOTA in Arlington, VA, and Tokyo Rose in Charlottesville, VA. ADG has opened for Richard Buckner, Lois, Bettie Serveert, Rebecca Gates (Spinanes), Purple Ivy Shadows, Jenny Toomey, and Jon Langford and Sally Timms of the Mekons. Alice's membership in other groups include Hyaa!, The Beggars, Whirligig, Chutes & Ladders, Vauxhall Wagon, Sport Turned Spectacle, and Free Guns At Midnight.

Alice was owner and bartender of Galaxy Hut nightclub in Arlington, Virginia for a decade-and-a-half; she left the business last fall to pursue other interests. She resides in Cabin John, Maryland.
