The Los Angeles-based group Livin' Out Loud are able to blend old-school soul sounds with 21st century dance, pop, and R&B. Reuben MacCalla and Sylvia MacCalla founded the group and were joined by long time friends Lisa LaShawn and Jason "Martini" Martinez . All four are songwriters and vocalists, Sylvia performed in musicals such as the USA National Tours for RENT and Hairspray, Lisa co-wrote the song "Feel Me" for Mandy Moore, while Martini was a backup singer for Paul Simon and Frankie Valli. Reuben holds the distinction of being Producer/Engineer for Livin Out Loud.
Livin Out Loud was first commercially introduced in the UK in 2004, it started as an unclassifiable act and found its home in Urban, Dance and Alternative music, "Why U Gotta Lie" and "Cuz I Gotta Know" are singles from their album "Livin Out Loud: Then and Now" that gained immediate street recognition landing on dance and urban charts in Music Week and Blues & Soul Magazine.
In 2007 their next album "What About Us" released three more singles "What About Us". "Where's The Love" and the widely popular "All That Really Matters" which was #1 on DMC charts for 5 weeks. The tracks popularity was also helped by remixes from MJ Cole and Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown.
Livin Out Loud went back to the United States in 2008 and re-released "What About Us-Deluxe Edition" distributed by the Universal Music Group. They were recognized in the USA as a top Independent RnB group by Billboard Magazine and achieved Billboard chart success with the songs "I Can't Stop" and "Lately" (#34 and #31 respectively on Urban AC Chart). Both singles achieved #1 radio status in cities in the Southern United States.
In March 2010, Livin Out Loud released their music video "BrokeAzz-Radio Single" which rose to over a quarter million You Tube Views by April 2010. They have returned to the UK to release their next album titled "Lately", their single "Cuz I Gotta Know- Souled Out Mix" has already received UK airplay.
