Lisa Bastoni is a folk singer who spent much of her early career busking in the subways and streets of Boston, Massachusetts. Her first album, The Underground Christmas, was recorded at home and released independently in 2001. In 2002, she similarly recorded and released Gather Round, her first album of original songs. After performing at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's Emerging Artist Showcase that same year, Lisa began to tour the United States, playing at small venues and on sidewalks.
After performing at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival's Emerging Artist Showcase that same year, Lisa began to tour the United States, playing at small venues and on sidewalks. Although she then decided she was going to quit the music scene, she soon became inspired anew and began writing songs that would appear on her third album, Your First Sweetheart, released in 2004. One of the songs from that album, Who's Sorry Now, was featured on the Best of Boston vol. V sampler CD.
In 2005 Lisa moved from Somerville, MA to Austin, Texas. However, she only spent a year there before becoming homesick and returning to Massachusetts. While in Austin she recorded her latest album, Small Time Big Town, released in 2006.
Currently Lisa lives in Northampton, MA. Besides her solo career, she also performs with Naomi Sommers in a bluegrass band called Gray Sky Girls.
