I can only hope that nothing is yet written here simply because everyone considers it a "no brainer"-because they have been so universally exposed and prolific from the Crusaders and Fourplay, to Steely Dan,Toto and beyond in their own rights. Steely Dan's The Royal Scam gives special thanks to larry Carlton. No question why the album became a seminal multi-disciplined guitar course-largely due to Larry's efforts on "Kid Charlemagne". They must have liked what they heard because he was asked to return for both AJA and Gaucho - two of the best recordings ever made.

Black cow, AJA, Deacon Blues, (even Peg has his signature chords though he does not have the album credit), I got the news and Josie all have Larry either as a rhythm or solo guitarist.

As for mr Lukather, who calls Larry "sensei" the great teacher, I was hooked from the first time I heard Hold The Line... maybe love isn't always on time, but my friends Ste Lukather playing rock or fusion is a bargain at any price.
