1) German ALBATROS only had one album, in which they were invited into a studio to record. The 3 songs written had to be shortened to fit an LP format. However, this one album was the only effort that we heard from ALBATROS, and that's a shame because their theatric and complex arrangements similar to early Genesis and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, were great to hear, they had a very distinct sound. The band was a sextet and consisted of Peter Breitbarth on guitar, Thomas B?scher on drums, bandmember]Achim Hubricht[/bandmember] on bass, Harald Hubricht on keyboards, Christian K?ppen on piano, Hansi K?ppen on vocals and J?rgen Polzin on congas.
2) ALBATROS is a prog band from Igualada, Spain (near Barcelona) that was formed in 2000. In 2002 they released a first demo, "?Qui?n colg? a los lobos?". After many line up changes the band found stability and now features Javi Fern?ndez (guitar, vocals), Red P?rill (keyboards, vocals), Juanito (bass), Marc G. Rosell (guitar, vocals) and Tolo (drums). In 2008 they released their debut studio album "Pentadelia", where they managed to blend psychedelic influences, hard rock and progressive in a very interesting way. The album can be legally downloaded for free from the band's official website www.psicoalbatros.com.
