Originally from Buffalo NY , John attended college in Milwaukee at UWM. While there he played in the Milwaukee folk group The Highlanders and wrote songs something he started at the age of 16 in Buffalo. While in Milwaukee he got a job as a local RCA promotion man and over time did stints as a promo/sales guy for RCA, Electra, Columbia and UA in the midwest and west. John wrote the local WI hit "You Bet your Sweet Bippy" by The Wrest in '69.
He opened the east side record store Ludwig Van Ear and with Milwaukee's Jim Spencer in the '70's he co-wrote and produced "The Blues Are Out To Get Me" which was released on Armada a local label. After this period he started doing his songs himself and worked with several Gospel artists writing and producing CD's
To date he has produced cds and written songs for Carl Story, Don Mchan, Denise Shipler ("Salvation Train" & "Man From Galilee" for blugrass hall of fame member Carl Story) John has released 3 cds & 1 cd single of his own on the Pure White Dove label. His product can be found at cdbaby & on itunes. Now living in FL , he's working on a cd of "old timey" tunes titled called "Moon"
