Fuck the Writer

Conceived, born and raised in Groningen, Netherlands, currently living in Rotterdam. Fuck the Writer is a one-man band by Emil van Steenwijk. Emil started experimenting with tape recorders to tell his story. In the winter of '03/'04 that lead to the release of an album which he recorded in his bedroom called "Maar Ik Dans Niet". After that, a period of researching and experimenting lead to a move to Amsterdam, where he lived for a year. The capitol couldn't inspire him though, so he moved back to Rotterdam

It was there where Fuck the Writer developed his sound and with a lot of experimenting he came closer and closer to what would be his second album called "Keeping the Aspidistra Flying".

Fuck the Writer recently recorded his third record at the IJlandstudio in Amsterdam,
this time with a band. This album is awaiting it's release.
